There are blogs about nearly every subject imaginable, but a good portion of these never go beyond being seen by just a few. Your blog needs to have more authority, but it needs more readers. Here are ten free ways to promote your blog and receive more traffic.

1. Take a Look at Social Media Outlets

Myspace, Facebook and Twitter all have people who might want to read what you’re writing about. Look around the other social media sites to see if there is something you can use. The more people who have a chance to see your work, the more quality readers you will receive.

2. Create Linkbait

Linkbait is best defined as articles or controversial pieces that people want to read and share. List articles and heavily charged pieces are great to use for linkbait. If your format is easily digestible, it could qualify for being link bait.

3. Link Exchange

This sort of reciprocal activity is common among bloggers. Find blogs within your niche and ask the authors if you can exchange links. This broadens readers’ horizons by giving them something new.

4. Email Readers About Cool Stuff

This technique can be used after you know what some of your readers’ hot buttons are. If you know that someone loves it when you post about the money making aspect in your niche, send that person an email to tell them that a good article like that is coming up.

5. Join or Create Communities About Your Topic

Using your favorite blog service, create something about the niche that you love. If there is already a community dealing with that niche, join it and comment regularly. This will allow more readers to see you and you can gain expert status.

6. Mention Other Blogs

You read some great blogs which offer ideas and strategies related to your niche. Don’t be afraid to link to other blogs or put them in your blog roll. You will be thanked with more readership.

7. Write a Newsletter

Blog posts are generally limited to one topic. An ezine or newsletter can cover plenty of subjects or further elaborate upon some of the items discussed. Newsletters and ezines provide more valuable information that people want to read.

By giving away a chapter in your e-book you are seen as more personable and generous. Your readers will send that chapter to others and you will generate more interest about your blogs.

Generating publicity is easy, but the results take time to realize. Be persistent and you will gain more readership.

How to write great quality paid reviews?

Paid reviews are one of the forms of high paying advertisement methods in the blogging world. This is not a simple banner, it’s an in depth review of the product, site or service. Reviews are one of the great assets of companies.

It’s a way to explain a product further and to make people interested to try it out. I think paid reviews are blessings for bloggers to make some extra money from their blog. Many people will not agree with me because they think it’s an evil way to use the internet -why? Because google said so. Google doesn’t like paid review marketplaces and all of those sites who sell their links.

For this reason most of the people don’t even apply for paid review sites and many of them don’t even want to talk about it. Let me tell you that, I don’t care what google thinks or what it does, “I don’t write for google(a computer), I write for people” and as long as I have my readers, I’m in the business.

Advertisers want to have their product reviewed by big blogs like ProBlogger, DoshDosh and CopyBlogger. This is not just because they have a big blog, they have a reputation of writing outstanding reviews.

If you write great quality reviews, the advertiser will like you and will refer others to get reviewed from you. Most of my reviews have top search positions for that product and this is one of the bonus ways to get better search rankings. Some people will connect with you directly for a review and that’s another source of profit.

Here are some tips which will help you to write great quality reviews,

(1) Do some research and explore
I know it could be tough. Paid review sites like PayPerPost gives only 6 hours to complete a review so doing a research on the topic is really very hard. Explore the website you are reviewing and take a look at their business. What they do, where they are from, how they manage their customers. Take a search on the internet to see what others are saying about them to have more reference.

(2) Write it as a natural post
When it comes to a review, most bloggers create nothing more than a sales pitch. Advertisers tell that to create a post like a natural content. Try to write a review as you are writing about google or yahoo search in your blog. We give lots of potential on regular posts, but we give less effort on the post which is paying us. You should provide a much valued post even you are getting $5 for that.

Please make a note that, a paid post is a part of your blog -so please write a review that is much more valuable as your other posts.

(3) Fulfill the requirements
There could be unlimited requirements of an advertiser. The reviews I’ve came across so far are different. Some are filled with many requirements and some are very simple. Every paid post requires a backlink with a special keyword. Add the keyword link in that post. There are many other requirements from each post like one of them is adding another link in the post that links an internal page.

Some advertiser wants the main keyword to be added in the title field. Like if the keyword is ‘Jobs’, you have to add the word in the title too.

PayPerPost advertisers want to track the review so they want their reviewer to add a special image link in the post. This way they will know that if the article is still online or not.

Some advertisers wants to have more in a paid post like a special image, logo, video or a special disclosure link. You have to add it on your post.

(4) Forget about word count and minimum requirements
Advertisers will set the minimum word count of your paid review like 50, 100, 200 or 300 words. You have to forget about the word count and have to write in the way you want. Write a normal review about the product, the key features and everything you want your readers to know. But if you want to be strict and write a review on 50 words, then it won’t be a valuable content. Add value to your post and add images to make the review more interesting. Add additional links if you like.

(5) Be personal on your review
Don’t just create a sales pitch or an advertisement. Write a review with your own point of view. Your readers will want to know what you think about this site/ service. Be personal, add personal experiences. Being personal will make the review more appealing to the audience.

(6) Don’t remove the links and review
This is one un-professional thing you should not do with a review. Most of the time bloggers remove the links or the entire review once they got paid. This is bad because the advertiser is watching your blog and you will lose reputation. Most of the paid review sites don’t like this and will terminate your account. The money for a review is precious to you and the same time it’s very precious to your advertiser. Don’t remove the links once you got paid.

In direct advertisement method, you will be paid first before doing the work. So don’t scam your advertiser by not doing a review or publishing a bad quality review.

(7) Focus on your reputation
If you write great quality reviews, your advertiser will love you and they will trust you. Try to build a good reputation on the marketplace to have long term benefits. If you write great articles, they will vote for you and this will help you to get more reviews. There are some review sites which allows you to get vote from the advertiser.
